I had the chance to listen to Daft Punk's latest live recording album a week early, and it is nothing short of phenomenal. First off, check out the songlist...
1. ROBOT ROCK / OH YEAH
2. TOUCH IT / TECHNOLOGIC
3. TELEVISION RULES THE NATION / CRESCENDOLLS
4. TOO LONG / STEAM MACHINE
5. AROUND THE WORLD / HARDER BETTER FASTER STRONGER
6. BURNIN' /TOO LONG
7. FACE TO FACE / SHORT CIRCUIT
8. ONE MORE TIME / AERODYNAMIC
9. AERODYNAMIC BEATS / FORGET ABOUT THE WORLD
10. PRIME TIME OF YOUR LIFE / BRAINWASHER / ROLLIN' AND SCRATCHIN'/ALIVE
11. DA FUNK / DAFTENDIREKT
12. SUPERHEROES / HUMAN AFTER ALL / ROCK'N ROLL
The keyword here would be "mash-ups." However, Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel does it totally differently from the usual mash-ups Djs and they really put MOS' Mash-Up Mix CDs to shame. The way they mash, overlay and doing live remixes of their own songs is totally a new experience and really inspiring. It is as if the whole set is coded with a subliminal message telling its listeners to strive to be creative, to challenge new frontiers and then never accept anything that reeks of the slightest mediocrity. Here is the first track in the CD, it should tease you enough to get you interested to buy the CD when it drops.
Daft Punk - Robot Rock/Oh Yeah (Alive 2007)
And I really don't mean to take a dig at Kanye, I feel he's really innovative even though he's actually quite a petulant bitch. However, Kanye took their track and made a somewhat good song, but look what Daft Punk does to their own track...and remember this is remixed live!
Daft Punk - Face to Face/Short Circuit (Alive 2007)
I remember when Tiesto is spinning to tens of thousands of people during his stadium concerts, but he just use the normal vinyls and all that, now compare it with what Daft Punk is doing. Anyway...the track that comes up after "Face to Face/Short Circuit," i consider it the climax of their set, here's a video for it...
that's all fellas, till next time.

im in love...wooOOOo , im in love...wooOOOo
I tell ya...by this time next month "im in love...wooOOOo, im in love...wooOOOo" will be playing on loop at every local radio station. That's exactly the way to make a nice catchy electro song sounds super irritating. After the not so elegant downfall of Shitney Queers, Kylie came back big time after successfully battling breast cancer with her new album 'X' (dropping next month). And boy does she have the contacts! People helping Kylie in her new album includes Calvin Harris, Serge Gainsbourgh, Cathy Dennis and Freemasons. On top of that, the producers for her first single "2 Hearts" are apparently an up and coming electro band whose already being signed to big name record companies. Kish Mauve, word has it, that they are gona be next year's Dragonette or Freeform Five! Therefore i bring you, the very addictive "2 Hearts," great tune, seamless production, dun seem too original (sounds really Gwen Stefani-sh at some parts), but it's almost confirmed that it will be a number one hit. And on top of that, an amazing Alan Braxe remix that strips away all the unnecessary elements and whip up the electro sound in the track to another notch.
oh...and peep the video, now I can be sure that I'd not be the only one who sees similarities with Gwen Stefani.
p.s. the musicians jamming with Kylie in the video are Kish Mauve, i'm gona do a little digging about them and then come back in a few day's time with a feature.

does everything need to have a title?
To zealous fans of indie music and the cool and trendy Myspace kids, Bloc Party would've been fucking old news. The thing is, theres nothing really new and exciting for the past weeks either so therefore, i bring u two fucking awesome remixes of BP's song. Besides, this is the only indie band i know of with a Black and Asian guy in it, how cool is that?
First off, the Cutoff and Flaxen remix of "The Prayer" really does accentuate Kele Okereke's vocals in a really nice way. Listen closely to the second breakdown where the remixers added alot of funky riffs to it.
Secondly, we have the SebastiAn aka Mr French Prodigy's remix of their latest single, "I Still Remember." Seb there has this really amazing ability to make all his songs sounds like an orgasmic techno orchestra, its a highly recommended listen, so please check this one out.
Bloc Party - The Prayer (Cutoff and Flaxen Remix)
Bloc Party - I Still Remember (SebastiAn Remix)
In other news, Justice won the Best French Act and also the Best Video (They call it something else). Well, Daft Punk has been busy with their concert so theres no one else to take Best French Act from Justice. However for the Best Video, i'm kinda surprise that they don't give it to Justin Timberlake or Kanye, well it's a good thing that MTV recognises such a talented dance act. And low and behold...Kanye lost it twice to Justice! (last year's We Are Your Friends).
